​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The following information is a brief history of the Commissioners of the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission, dating back to 1980. This list includes Commissioners who served from 196​9 to present day. The information is sorted in reverse-chronological order and includes law school and graduation year, years of service, the governor who appointed each Commissioner, and other notable public service.

As part of the executive branch reorganization of 1969, the Board of Tax Appeals became the Tax Appeals Commission. It consisted of three members until 1977, when two Commissioners were added. The Commission then consisted of five Commissioners, one full-time Chairperson and four part-time Commissioners. In 1985, the Commission was reorganized to include three full-time members and two part time-members. With this change, the Small Claims Division was created. In 1991, legislation was passed to remove the part-time positions, and those terms expired in 1993. The current Commission consists of three full-time Commissioners, who serve staggered six-year terms ending on March 1st in odd-numbered years.
